Doug McQuaid: Doug grew up in the landscape and nursery business, from the age of 14, he assisted his parents at The Salt Box Nursery. He continued his education at Utah State University, graduating witha degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design. Through 40 years of landscaping, on both the east and west coast, he has become proficient in irrigation, lighting, and plant diversity. He continues to develop his artistic landscape expertise through education and work. His designs are fresh and relevant for our unique New England climate.

Favorite Plant: Witch Hazel ‘Arnolds Promise’ for its spectacular early yellow flowers and its beautiful branching habit.

Jeff Verzone: Jeff has been growing, maintaining, installing, and designing quality landscapes in the northeast for over 30 years. With a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Massachusetts, a state horticultural certification, and pesticide certification, Jeff practices with an environmentally friendly approach. He can be most often found within the nursery asking questions of customers in order to find the best solution for their landscape needs.

Favorite Plant: Japanese Stewartia with summer flowers, fantastic fall foliage, & exfoliating bark this tree is tops.

Favorite Garden: Mt Auburn Cemetery an awesome collection and combination of plants

Greg Giroux: Greg holds a B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of New Hampshire and a M.S. in Plant Science from the University of Rhode Island. He enjoys our customers and assisting them in making informed choices for their landscape needs and helping them design do it yourself projects. Aside from gardening , Greg’s interests include music, theme parks, and theatre.

Favorite Garden: Hershey Gardens, Hershey PA with beautiful beds of roses, flowers, a butterfly house, and more.

Favorite Plant: White Pine a stately native tree that matures gracefully.

Kelly Skinner: Kelly is our upbeat and outgoing Administrative Assistant. She enjoys the variety of work from bookkeeping, to fielding retail calls, taking and placing orders, and coordinating landscape projects. She enjoys spending time in Maine with her husband and two daughters, as well as visiting her family in Michigan.

Favorite Plant: Gardenia the smell reminds her of orange blossoms and her childhood days in Florida
